Terms of Service
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Welcome to HackQ. By creating an account or using https://hackq.tech you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who can use HackQ
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- You must give accurate information at sign-up, including your birthdate and a working email address.
- You may not use the service if you were previously banned from it.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and everything done through it. Keep your password secret, use a strong one, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. One person may not run multiple accounts to evade bans, limits or the ranking system.
3. Acceptable use: security content
HackQ welcomes security research, CTFs, penetration testing knowledge and responsible disclosure. To keep the community useful and lawful:
- Allowed: discussing publicly disclosed vulnerabilities (with a CVE ID), analysing malware and exploits for defence and education, CTF write-ups, tool releases for authorised testing, and tutorials on security techniques.
- Not allowed: posting unpatched or undisclosed vulnerabilities (0-days) that put users at risk; ready-to-use attacks, malware or ransomware aimed at deployment against real victims; stolen data, leaked credentials or databases; instructions or requests to attack a specific person, company or system without authorisation; selling or advertising illegal services.
- Only test systems you own or have written permission to test. You are solely responsible for how you use any information from the site and for obeying the laws that apply to you.
- Posts about CVEs must refer to an existing, public CVE ID. Posts about events and CTFs must be genuine.
4. General conduct
You agree not to: harass, threaten, dox or discriminate against others; post sexual content involving minors, graphic violence or other illegal material; spam, run scams, or post misleading or manipulative content; impersonate others; manipulate points, ranks, reactions or follows (for example with bots or fake accounts); scrape the service in a way that harms it; or interfere with its security or operation.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you post. You must have the right to post it, including images, code and text written by others.
- You give HackQ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt (for example resize images or generate previews) and distribute your content as part of operating and promoting the service, including in link previews and search results. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies that others have already shared or that remain in backups for a short time.
- Content you publish is public. Do not post anything you want to keep private.
6. Moderation, points and ranks
New members' posts may be reviewed before they appear. Moderators and administrators may approve, reject, edit, remove or restrict content and accounts at their discretion to enforce these Terms. Points, ranks, badges and daily posting limits are features of the service, have no cash value, and may be changed, adjusted or reset, including to correct abuse. A verified badge indicates a role or status assigned by us and is not an endorsement of any content.
7. Copyright and takedowns
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on HackQ infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: the URL of the content, a description of the work, your contact details, a statement that you act in good faith and that the information is accurate, and your signature. We may remove content and disable repeat infringers' accounts.
8. Third-party services and links
The service uses third parties such as Cloudinary, Giphy, YouTube, Google, GitHub and Resend, and posts may link to external sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using HackQ at any time and can ask us to delete your account at [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate accounts, with or without notice, for violating these Terms, for security reasons, or to comply with the law. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as licences already granted, disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
HackQ is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. User content reflects the views of its authors, not ours, and we do not guarantee that it is accurate, safe, complete or legal in your jurisdiction. Security information can be dangerous if misused; you use it at your own risk. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HackQ and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or from content posted by users. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of this site is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled by the competent courts there, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
